Privacy Policy

Klic keeps things simple. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how we look after it.

What we collect

Account data — username, display name, and a hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.

Messages & calls — content is encrypted in transit and stored encrypted at rest on our servers, which Klic operates to deliver your conversations across your devices.

Contacts — if you opt in to contact sync, only SHA-256 hashes of your contacts are uploaded to find friends already on Klic. Your actual address book never leaves your device.

Device & usage data — anonymous crash reports and usage statistics to improve the app.

How we use it

Your data is used exclusively to operate and improve Klic. We do not sell or share personal information with advertisers or third parties.

Services that help us run Klic

A small set of infrastructure providers process data on our behalf, solely to deliver the service:

  • Apple Push Notification service — delivers push notifications to iOS devices; notifications may include message previews
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to Android devices; notifications may include message previews
  • LiveKit — routes real-time audio and video for your calls
  • Google — optional email linking and sign-in, only if you choose to connect a Google account

Data retention

You can delete your account at any time. All associated data is permanently removed within 30 days of deletion. See how to delete your account — including without the app installed.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest. Read more on our security page.
